Castell d’Encús

Castell d’Encús

Castell d’Encús aim is to find vineyards that produce wines with lots of freshness without sacrificing the right phenolic maturity of the grapes.

The origin of the project is due to the personal impact the area where our vineyard is situated had on Raül. He was looking for a site in the Pyrenees that could reduce the effects of climatic change. A place that conveys a lot of strength due to its orography, land composition and above all its history.

Our vineyards are between 850 and 1.300 metres high, surrounded by woods and with a lot of historic spots: Hospitaller Monks stayed here between the 12th and 18th century. The property has eight stone vats that work through gravity and we use them to ferment most of our wines.
